10 June 2020. I led Kovet.art‘s inaugural panel discussion as part of their launch in the summer. ‘What Now? The Gallery Model of the Future’ looked at how the commercial art gallery model might change and develop in a post-Covid world and we also talked about what differences we had already been seeing in the months of lockdown.
I was joined on the panel by renowned art expert and former artistic director of the Royal Academy, Kathleen Soriano; the curator and cultural strategist Sigrid Kirk, who co-founded AWITA, The Association of Women in the Arts; Saras Rachupalli, the CEO and founder of Kovet.art; and Camilla Grimaldi, Kovet.art’s chief art officer.
Kovet.art is a new expert guide to navigating the world of emerging art. It combines an incubator programme for newly graduated artists with a commercial gallery model to bring together emerging talent and curious collectors. Kovet.art were recognised as ones to watch in 2020 by the top tech fair CogX even before their launch. They were selected by Createch and Creative Industries Council for their work and concept in disrupting the traditional art market. They have been selected and now supported by mentorship offered by London & Partners—the Mayor of London’s programme for businesses, trade and investment.
